We are repeating our success and inviting you to a FREE Skating and Hockey School!
The Skating and Hockey School is an offer for children between 3 and 9 years old who want to learn how to skate. No prior knowledge is required for either the children or their guardians. We accept new participants all year round and adapt the activity to the children's level.
Equipment
When we are on the ice, it is mandatory to wear a helmet, skates, gloves and a neck protector.
We provide neck protectors, helmets and skates for all children.
Hockey gloves, thick gloves or mittens are required to protect small fingers.
Clothing tip: Do not dress the children in too thick clothing – they get warm quickly on the ice. We recommend wool underwear closest to the body, equipment on top, and then a light pair of sweatpants/overpants plus a sweater or a thin jacket as outer layer.
If you want to borrow additional equipment (such as shin guards, pants, shoulder protectors, etc.), this must be agreed in advance. Extra protection is not necessary at Level 1.
👉 Parents are also welcome on the ice if their child needs support at the beginning. Parents must bring their own helmet and preferably their own skates, as we do not have many in larger sizes. A helmet is mandatory for everyone on the ice.
Start
The first skating and hockey school of the season will be Saturday, October 10 at 11:00.
From Tuesday, November 3 we also add a Tuesday session at 18:00.
👉 Until November 3 there are only Saturday sessions, but from then on we offer training twice a week until Easter.
Levels
Level 1: Beginner – basic skills such as balance, etc.
Level 2: Stick technique – puck handling, finishing and simple passes.
Level 3: Experienced – for children who master both skating and stick technique. Here we focus more on team play and interaction.
Children can move between levels as needed and desired.
Important
All participants must be a member of IL Jutul to participate, so that the child is insured on the ice.
👉 Please also join the Skating and Hockey School’s Spond group for an overview of the training. Group code: FMDLX.
